Plateau
Context of the project
Plateau, 12 MW, is one of the two solar farms comprising the 24 MW Verrerie project. A striking feature of the Verrerie plant is that it is directly connected to the 225,000-volt Extra High Voltage network – a major technological challenge successfully met by the Akuo teams. French solar farms are usually connected to 20,000 volts. This innovation notably required the putting in place of an energy flow regulation system to ensure the grid’s stability.
Moreover, ever focused on protecting the environment, there is melliferous fallow land between the solar panels to provide bees with a natural food source. This land has also been made available to a shepherd who uses it for sheep pens and grazing.
