Capu di Padulla: A solar PV power and storage plant in Porto-Vecchio
The Capu di Padulla plant, located in Porto-Vecchio, southern Corsica, represents a major breakthrough in the field of renewable energy. With an installed output of 5.08 MW and a storage capacity of 16.3 MWh, this innovative project combines photovoltaic technology and lithium-ion batteries to optimize the production and storage of energy.
This photovoltaic power and storage plant is in keeping with the Corsican Authority’s objective of developing renewable energies on the island and reducing its dependence on imported fossil fuels.
The plant is located on a former landfill site that has been restored, thus demonstrating the possibility of re-using brownfield sites for the production of clean energy.
