A network collecting and upcycling non-organic waste
The project
Peduli Alam is an association that has been working in Bali to protect the environment since 2009. The purpose of this project was to put a waste collection system in place for rural populations of Bali and to organize a truck to take it to the waste sorting center.
A project led by the locals, for the locals
Peduli Alam also organizes prevention and awareness-raising campaigns in schools and villages to encourage inhabitants to change their behavior in order to address this phenomenon. Since 2013, Peduli Alam has been recycling a portion of the plastic it collects and transforming it into bags and accessories.
Supported in 2011 by the Akuo Foundation, Peduli Alam has flourished through the years by developing partnerships with local tourist structures and charity associations and by intensifying its entrepreneurial aspect.
