The Akuo Group announces the opening of a crowdfunding campaign for a portfolio of solar power plants in the Thessaly region of Greece. This is the first operation presented on the Akuo Group’s new "AkuoCoop by Lendosphere" portal, in partnership with crowdfunding experts Lendosphere. For an initial sum of €1 million, this campaign is open to all.

The investment terms and conditions (interest rate, duration, etc.) are presented on:  Akuocoop by Lendosphere

Invest in the energy transition and decarbonize your investments

This fundraising will allow all European citizens who wish to do so to contribute to the refinancing of the Thessaly solar farm in Greece, operated by Akuo. The solar farm stretches across 8 hectares (20 acres) of land and comprises four photovoltaic power plants (Tsairia, Zappeio 1024, Zappeio 1008 and Foniades) with a combined output of 4 MWp. For savers, this is an opportunity to contribute to the European energy transition. Participation in the financing of this portfolio is accessible online, from €100 upwards, after prior registration on the portal hosted by Lendosphere’s platform: Akuocoop by Lendosphere

For Éric Scotto, Chairman and co-founder of Akuo, “At the end of 2022, the Greek government announced its target of increasing the share of renewables in the country’s energy mix to 80% by 2030 in order to make Greece a pioneer within the EU!  This commitment was the sign the renewable energy industry was waiting for to truly step up a gear. To this end, Akuo wants to involve as many citizens as possible in its projects, which must benefit them from every perspective”.

An exclusive portal for Akuo’s fundraising campaigns on Lendosphere

AkuoCoop by Lendosphere is the Akuo Group’s participatory financing (‘crowdfunding’) portal hosted by Lendosphere. The aim of the campaigns presented on this portal is to accompany the Akuo Group’s renewable energy projects and to support projects with a substantial social and environmental impact selected by the Akuo Foundation. With AkuoCoop by Lendosphere Akuo is putting the participative aspect and the sharing of value with local players at the heart of its projects.

About the portfolio of 4 photovoltaic plants

The 4 solar power plants are located near the town of Larissa, in Greece’s Thessaly region. With a total output of 4 MW, they generate 6.3GWh of power annually, the equivalent of the consumption of 570 households, thus preventing the emission of 2,100 metric tons of CO2 every year. The 4 plants came online in 2023 and are currently all operational.

The Thessaly solar farm represents the first stage of a vast program of projects currently being developed by Akuo in collaboration with the Thessaly Region, and which should lead to the construction of facilities with a total output of 500 MW. Akuo is actively participating in the Greek government’s National Energy and Climate Plan (NECP), which targets an increase in the share of renewables in that country’s energy mix to over 80% by 2030.
