Invest in the energy transition and decarbonize your investments

This fundraising campaign will enable anyone who wishes to do so to contribute, via an interest-bearing loan, to the funding of the expansion of the Santas solar plant, in Alentejo, Portugal, operated by Akuo. For savers, this is an opportunity to become a major actor in the energy transition while decarbonizing their portfolio. Participation in the financing of this plant is accessible online, starting at €100, after prior registration via the portal hosted on the Lendosphere platform: https://akuocoop.lendosphere.com

Éric Scotto, Chairman and co-founder of Akuo, said: “When we won the bidding in 2019, the entire sector was struck by our boldness. Thanks to amazing teamwork with our partners, we were able to build the Santas plant and are now getting ready to expand it. This project, which entirely serves Portuguese citizens, provides a reliable, green and inexpensive source of energy that will contribute not only to Portugal’s energy targets, but also to its energy independence. It should be acknowledged that the Portuguese government has always shown itself to be forward-looking, and we can only thank it for its vision and trust”.

About the Santas solar plant expansion project

Portugal enjoys Europe’s highest sunshine levels. The Santas plant, which is already one of Portugal’s largest solar farms, is located in the municipalities of Monforte and Borba, in Alentejo Region. Akuo has decided to increase its capacity by launching a project to expand the Santas plant by a further 45 MWp on top of its current output of 180 MWp, taking it to 225 MWp in total.

The expansion project will generate 82.4 GWh a year, covering the energy requirements of 25,000 households and enabling 13,500 metric tons of CO2 emissions to be avoided every year. The expansion should begin injecting green electricity into the grid in October 2025 and become fully operational by December 2025.

This crowdfunding campaign has received the “Financement Participatif pour la croissance verte” (Crowdfunding for green growth) label.
